"Like all drivers I get asked how I like driving for Summitt. I tell every one of them I will not drive for anyone else. The miles are there, very good pay scale, and you can't beat the benefits. Summitt Trucking is one of the few trucking companies that understand the drivers are the biggest part of the company and the drivers are treated that way. We are all one big family."

"I have worked for about eight other trucking companies and I feel Summitt is the best company for a number of reasons. I am treated with respect, I make good money and I am home when I need to be. I have nothing bad to say about Summitt at all. The only thing that would be better than working here would be not having to work at all. But, since that is not possible, I know that I am working for the best place there is."

"I have been with Summitt Trucking since September of 2005 and I have never been with a better outfit. Drivers are treated fairly and as a person, not a number. The pay, mileage and home time are second to none. I will be an employee of Summitt Trucking for years to come."

"I've went through the Smith System twice with other companies and 2 things that really help me in keeping a good safe distance behind other vehicles are: "Aim High" in steering and "Leave Yourself an Out". If I'm paying attention to what is further ahead of me, I can determine if certain vehicles are going slower than others, thereby allowing me to get over into another lane to avoid coming up on them in a hurry. Leaving myself an "out" allows me to constantly check the lane beside me in case I need to get over to get around a slow vehicle that I'm steadily approaching.

The Eaton VORAD system, also helps me determine if I'm slowly gaining on the vehicle in front of me by lighting up, thereby telling me I need to reduce my speed until the lights go out. Leaving early, allowing yourself plenty of time, also eliminates the need to feel rushed and reduces the need to feel like you have to tailgate, trying to get the load to the customer on time."
