Summitt
Trucking, LLC has one of the most experienced Safety Departments
in the industry.
With over 100
years of combined experience and knowledge, our nine member staff
includes three members who have held director level positions at
other Motor Carriers prior to joining the Summitt Team.
Our Safety
Team is responsible for accident and injury investigation, risk
management, regulatory compliance, driver and staff training, equipment
credentials, and the overall safe interaction of our driving fleet
with the motoring public. A senior member of the Safety Staff is
always available 24 hours per day 365 days per year.
In an effort
to provide our drivers with the safest work environment, Summitt
utilizes the latest technology and training. Our trucks are equipped
with Eaton Vorad Collision Avoidance systems, ergonomically designed
automatic transmissions, and satellite-tracking systems, and are
designed for overall comfort to minimize driver fatigue.
Summitt trucking
employs three National Safety Counsel qualified Defensive Driving
Instructors to lead our driver training efforts. To keep our fleet
of drivers fully informed on the latest regulatory and policy changes
and the latest industry related news, the Safety Staff offers quarterly
meetings and monthly DDC classes as well as weekly individual and
small group instruction on a variety of topics.
