All Company Drivers will be issued an hourly rate of pay, a solo rate of pay and a team rate of pay Hourly pay will be paid for all runs under 150 miles and all runs over 150 miles will be paid mileage Company team drivers will be paid individual rates based upon the above chart
Additional Pay
- Hazmat Pay: An additional .02 cpm is paid when a driver is hauling a Hazmat load
- New York City Pay: $100.00 for either pickup or delivery in New York City (Maximum $100 if going into and coming out of NY. NY City is defined as one of the five boroughs (Brooklyn, Queens, Bronx, Manhattan and Staten Island).
- Stop-off Pay: $25.00 per stop-off, excluding first pickup and last stop, per trip number.
- Detention Pay: Normally paid $12.75 per hour after 2 hours.
- Layover Pay: For each 24-hour period of layover while on the road, single drivers are paid $75.00 or teams will be paid $100.00 split.
- Canada Pay: $50 for either pickup or delivery into Canada
Home Time
At Summitt you will typically get home weekly but may be out on the road up to 10 days with 34-48 hours home. We also allow drivers to stay out longer and receive more home time, as well as, the option to be home every other weekend. In addition, Summitt highly encourages our drivers to take paid holidays and vacations to enjoy additional home time so that they may be more safe and productive drivers.
Referral Bonus
Summitt Trucking realizes that our good drivers can be very instrumental in recruiting other good drivers to go to work for the Company. All driver personnel will be paid a recruitment bonus of 2 cents-per-mile for up to 12 months for each mile for which your driver recruit is paid. This payment will be weekly and included on your payroll check. For example, if your recruit runs 3000 miles this week, you will receive your recruiting bonus next week at 2 cents-per-mile or, in this case, $60. This will be paid weekly for each of your recruited drivers as long as you and the recruited driver are employed by the Company. The new driver must have list you, the current employee, on his/her original application as the individual that referred the him/her to the Company.
